What are Mud Tyres?
Mud-terrain (MT) tyres use aggressive lugs, wide voids, and reinforced sidewalls to claw through deep mud, rocks, and soft sand — at the cost of noise, wear, and wet bitumen grip versus highway patterns.
Who should buy MT
Regular off-roaders who see mud and sharp rocks. Occasional gravel drivers are usually happier on all-terrains.
On-road compromises
Louder cabin, longer wet stops, faster wear if mostly highway — and higher fuel use from rolling resistance.
Sizing and gearing
Taller MTs change effective gearing; recalibrate speed sensors if needed.
