Your Guide to Wheels: Rim Width, Fitment, Offset and More!
Rim width must suit your tyre approved mounting range. Offset (ET) is the distance from the hub mounting face to the wheel centreline — it controls clearance to suspension, guards, and bearing load.
Width compatibility
Too narrow a rim pinches the tyre; too wide risks bead slip and odd wear.
Offset effects
Lower ET pushes the wheel outward — may look tough but loads wheel bearings and can rub guards.
Centre bore and PCD
Hub-centric rings eliminate vibration; PCD must match exactly — no close enough with studs.
